Gen 1, Chapter 1: Eve(lyn) Adams

Hello. I know nobody reading this knows who I am, but we'll get there. Before I start telling you this crazy (but somehow, all totally true) story, let me tell you about the woman who started it all.

Okay, so it doesn't start out all that crazy, but we'll get there pretty soon.

Evelyn Adams came from a small family in the small town of Pleasantview. Her family wasn't poor, but they weren't rich either; They were just your average family of a mother, a father, and a daughter. Needless to say, her life growing up was very typical. No tragic backstory, no bad blood between any family members, nothing. Her life, while she was growing up at least, was about as interesting as watching a wall of beige paint dry. Luckily for you, her life growing up isn't what you're here to read about.

As soon as she came of age, though, she broke free of her life's constant pattern of normalcy; She risked her family ties and moved to Newcrest in an attempt to start anew, pursuing her simple dream of being able to paint in peace and paying the bills. However, she had a much bigger reason for ditching Pleasantview immediately come her eighteenth birthday.

Unlike her parents, she had always dreamed of having a large and successful legacy family, even if she never got to meet the descendants who would inherit her hypothetical prosperity. Why? Well, if there were three things everyone knew her for, she was creative, childish and especially family-oriented, so it was practically her destiny to start building up a legacy for her family's name.

After she had bought out a small starter home and the documents that let her even start growing her legacy, she was already flat-out broke. Still, a craving for somebody to love persevered in her heart, and even though she only had about 50 simoleons to her name, she still thought the right next move was to find the man who she would want to spend the rest of her life with.

It turns out fate had taken pity on her, and she got her wish of a fairy tale romance almost immediately in the form of Nigel Speer. Nigel was a music lover, a bro, and a goofball, who hit it off with Evelyn as soon as he first laid eyes on her; Even if his aspirations of being a serial romantic would tell the average watcher otherwise. In other words, even if there wasn't a big fancy ceremony to prove their love to the world, just swapping rings and saying "I love you," they were a perfect match. For a while, it seemed like everything Evelyn touched turned out to be perfect.

Of course, the honeymoon phase can only last so long before reality kicks in.
