Gen 2, Chapter 3: The Krysta Story

"I really don't mind long stories, Leroy. In this family, we're all about having a story to tell, remember?"

"But you really should get some sleep, don't you have work in the morning?"

"You being upset is a lot more important than how I feel at work in the morning. I'll just take off if I'm that tired when I've got to leave."

"Alright then, I guess it's story time. The story starts about seven years ago, when I had just gotten out of teen hood when I first met one of the local gym trainers, Krysta Vera. With her long black hair, beautiful body, and feminine walk, there was no way I could ever resist going into a relationship with her from the moment they first made eye contact, despite her toxic ways. Of course, I didn't know any better before I met you."

Penny giggled a little before letting the silence sit again, now taking a sleeping Lucy who was right across the room into account, but she was still unsure if he was trying to flirt with her just then (It wasn't exactly crazy, considering they were married, but it was definitely unusual for Leroy to flirt.

"And boy, was that relationship a heck of a ride. There was no "true love," only fireworks, and there was no denying that Krysta definitely had me wrapped around her finger. Still, Krysta was the drama's maestro, and I just stayed put and watched even as the crazy ride went downhill, going to every length to make sure my Krysta stayed happy.

That is, until we ended up taking things a little too far for her taste. Soon, we ended up having a little girl that she named Nikki. Not like Nikki had even mattered to Krysta though, as she was soon put up for adoption, even though she never told me. After I found out that she had just given Nikki away, there was a fight; Krysta won, which ending up with me out of the house, all on my own, and determined to never fall in love again.

"Well, I sure am lucky you changed your mind. I don't know what I would ever do without you... Wait...Nikki? That was Lucy's birth name wasn't it?"

"I know. So I guess what I'm trying to say was that you reunited me with my-well, our daughter now- Thanks, Pen."

Penny started to feel her heart warm as she turned out the lights, her head churning at how this legacy was unfolding, even if they were only on the second generation.
